JAZIE is a seaside-born and Brussels-based photographer, an aspiring gogo-girl, and a performative body obssesee. An enby shapeshifter, I often switch between playing early Gabber and nxc or Baile Funk, Cumbia, Gqom, or Harddrum; trying to genre bend between all.

I use the corona waves as a means to measure my DJ age. Having started djing 3 months into the pandemic I have more experience dancing my ass off in front of the speakers than djing for ass-off ravers.
I've become very grateful to Burenhinder for organizing hardcore parties with an emphasis on safer spaces and building a community. Having a safety awareness team present at their parties allows for an incomparable feeling of safety and freedom. Where I've been able to develop my taste for hardcore and partying in and of itself.

I'm aiming to further spread this freedom - of expression, sexual, ... - and combat discrimination and identity-based harassment in the Brussels rave scene by volunteering as a safer angel, developing rave-space protocols, and being a generally conscious raver. Together with several Belgian party collectives, we've started discussing an open-source database to interconnect different 'safer' initiatives. This would hopefully facilitate the sharing of events, resources, volunteers and
policies, and love.
